SOLD: Platinum Gathered #3776
SOLD!
Platinum #3776 pens are fantastic.
When I first saw this pen in a shop I thought it was pretty weird. It looked uncomfortable. I didn’t even bother to ask the shop staff to see it. I just sort of ignored it after that.
I saw this pen as part of an auction last year and I really wanted a different pen in that auction. I bid and won. When I got this pen it needed a good cleaning but then wrote smoothly after that. It is so comfortable. I will not judge a pen by its looks anymore.
This pen is in great condition. No major scratches, no names engraved. It has come to my attention that the “GSC” mark on the cap of this pen is the previous owners initials. It was a rather expensive (possibly uncommon) option that Platinum offered. It does look used. There are wear and tear scratches on this pen. This cap clips on.
Here are the pictures:
This pen is from the late 70’s or early 80’s because the feed is made of Ebonite. Platinum still makes this pen. The new version has a plastic feed and sells for ¥21,000 retail.
I am asking ¥8500 ¥8000 for this pen. That includes 2 Platinum cartridges and half the shipping. This pen can be used with Platinum cartridges or a Platinum Piston Convertor ( + ¥550 ). (Currently around $86 or $92.50 w/convertor)
If you have any questions or would like to buy this pen, please leave a comment or send me email at tomattarashinu@gmail.com .
Thanks!
